Launch of the 2026 edition of the Cantonal Sustainable Development Competition

The Canton of Geneva is launching the call for applications for the 25th edition of the Cantonal Sustainable Development Competition. This edition marks 25 years of promoting and showcasing exemplary sustainability projects and initiatives in Geneva and the surrounding region. The deadline for submitting applications is 17 February 2026.

The competition aims to support, encourage, and promote outstanding projects and achievements led by civil society. It is a key instrument for implementing the law on public action for sustainable development. The Sustainable Development Council will act as the jury, and a representative of the State Council will present the awards at the official ceremony to be held in spring 2026.

The competition includes three award categories:

  • The Grant supports the implementation of a project led by a private or non-profit organization, with funding of up to CHF 30,000;
  • The Prize rewards a project implemented by private or non-profit actors, with a maximum amount of CHF 10,000;
  • The Distinction (non-financial) recognizes an achievement from the public or semi-public sector.

The competition is open to individuals, companies, organizations, or groups from the private, non-profit, public, and semi-public sectors that are based in or active in Geneva or its surrounding region (Nyon district, Ain, Haute-Savoie).

Application forms and conditions, as well as extensive information on previous editions, are available at www.ge.ch/c/concoursdd.
