Join us for a mindful evening of Japanese calligraphy! Discover the art of ink and brush writing, guided step by step — and take home a piece you created yourself.
We begin with Japanese tea and sweets, setting a calm pace for the evening. From there, you’ll be guided through the fundamentals of Shodō (Japanese calligraphy) — how to hold the brush, how to move with intention, and how each stroke reflects your focus. You’ll choose a kanji character that resonates with you and practice writing it yourself. You’ll also discover your name in kanji, with the meaning behind each character. Everything you create is yours to take home.
