This month, let’s demystify Cloud Computing with Michael Mullins
Whether you realise it or not you are probably already using Cloud. Applications like Office 365, Evernote, Salesforce and LinkedIn would not be feasible without Cloud. So it’s easy to forget that the data in those Apps belongs to you and your customers. Is it properly encrypted? Who else has access to it? Can it be hacked?It’s also easy to get into to a new technology without really understanding it. Your suppliers, friends and software vendors are often deciding for you what Cloud Apps you use and when. Do they know your business well enough and do they have your best interests in mind?In this interactive workshop we will cover several interesting topics;
- A beginner’s guide to Cloud Infrastructure (IaaS) and why it is becoming the next big utility – just like electricity
- 10 different Cloud Use Cases that can really help entrepreneurs and start-ups
- A demo of some popular Cloud Infrastructure examples
- An introduction to Software as a Service (SaaS) Apps
- Demos of a few popular Cloud Apps for sales, marketing, graphics, e-business and project management
- How to link and share data between these SaaS Apps without knowing how to code
Since 1995 Michael worked as both an entrepreneur and an Information Technology (IT) consultant. He spent most of his time helping individuals and businesses reach their short, medium and long term IT objectives. As someone with 25 years experience, he knows how to use Open Source, Network, Security and Cloud technologies to put clients on the fastest and most cost effective path to success.
He qualified as an Electronics Engineer at a London University, and in 1997 he was certified by IBM as an AIX UNIX Advanced Administrator, and recently as an IBM Certified Solution Advisor in Cloud Computing Architecture. He is also a Mirantis OpenStack Certified Professional.
